Planet of the Abts: Combining Over Three Decades of Musical Bliss

Coming from the Grammy nominated rock band Gov’t Mule, Planet of the Abts consists of the rhythmic drummer Matt Abts, killer bassist Jorgen Carlsson, and incredible guitarist and lead singer T-Bone Anderson. Coming from different sides of the rock world as well as different sides of the globe, Anderson and Carlsson are from Sweden while Abts was born in Panama; they found common ground in Los Angeles, CA where POA was formed in 2011. The members combine over three decades of writing, recording, and touring experience. The result is a wildly rambunctious, highly unlikely hybrid of sounds that nevertheless appeals to your music taste buds, from hard and heavy blues-tinted rock to arty, synth-laden material.

planet of the abtsPlanet of the Abts has been working on a new, much anticipated second album which is dropping on June 2nd 2015 called All Things are Valley. This album features numerous collaborations such as: Gov’t Mule front man, Warren Haynes, Danny Louis, keyboardist from Gov’t Mule, horn player from Gov’t mule, and Marc Quinones, from the Allman brothers. All the songs on this album are POA originals that were recorded and mixed at Rogers Boat Studio in LA. Every element of this album is collaborative, from writing and recording to gear and photography. Everyone including family and fans has played a special part in this album. The album will be available worldwide on iTunes.
