What to Expect at The Lockn’ Festival 2015

Lockn’ Festival, formerly known as Interlocken Music Festival, is an annual four-day music festival held at Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, Virginia. The Lockn’ Festival focuses primarily on jam bands and other music improvisation acts. This year’s 10 collaborations will make you want to be at LOCKN’ right now!

  1. Phil Lesh & Friends featuring Carlos Santana and Warren Haynes

September 12, musical worlds will collide and conquer when Carlos Santa and Warren Haynes join Phil Lesh, Barry Sless, Rob Barraco, and John Molo. These guitar icons will tap into the Grateful Dead’s well of music to intensify classics with guitar virtuosity.

  1. Govt. Mule will play two days in a row! Widespread Panic with Jimmy Cliff

Reggae legend and genre-defining artist Jimmy Cliff returns to Oak Ridge Farm to perform with LOCKN’ veterans Widespread Panic on September 12. Mule will play on the Saturday and Sunday of the event 13th and 14th

  1. The Doobie Incident featuring The String Cheese Incident and The Doobie Brothers

September 10, California classic rock veterans The Doobie Brothers are joining forces with The String Cheese Incident for a once-in-a-lifetime historical hodgepodge of music.

September 10, founding Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann will be joined by his gang of dedicated descendants to put a jamtronica spin on legendary Grateful Dead classics.

September 11, excitement and anticipation will be in full force when Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe combines veteran groovemeister Chuck Leavell to undertake boogaloo beats and jazzy funkadelic grooves.

Sunday services come to you in the form of Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel. The music of the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia are being transformed into glorious gospel renditions.

With an incredibly influential legacy in the industry, Melvin Seals is the rockin’ ruler behind the Hammond B-3 Organ that played for over 18 years with Jerry Garcia Band. Joined by John Kadlecik of Furthur, Dark Star Orchestra, and Phil Lesh & Friends.

September 10, the Grateful Dead’s rhythm genius Mickey Hart will perform on the main stage with EOTO, the live all-improv electronic project of The String Cheese Incident’s Jason Hann and Michael Travis.

  1. Phil Lesh & Friends with Chris Robinson and Eric Krasno

September 11, Phil Lesh will be joined by The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson, Eric Krasno of Soulive and Lettuce, and Neal Casal, Adam MacDougall, and Tony Leone. This collaborative circumstance will celebrate the Grateful Dead’s psychedelic soundscapes and exploratory instrumental brilliance.

  1. Bob Weir, Saturday’s Featured Guest of the Day

September 12 founding Grateful Dead member Bob Weir is celebrated as a featured guest. Weir will weave his expertise into several ensembles like a patchwork quilt of stories, stitched together to form a tapestry that will reveal love, friendship, poetry, and song.
