Gov’t Mule’s Island Exodus: The Perfect Musical Vacation
If you love relaxing out in the beautiful warm sun all day, drinking an ice cold beer, and listening to the awesome hums of your favorite jam band then we have some good news for you! For six years now, every January, Gov’t Mule’s Island Exodus is held in Jamaica where your dreams become a reality for four days straight. The best part about this awesome event is that there is nothing like it across the world. Gov’t Mule creates the perfect get-a-way vacation for any true jam band fanatic.
At this awesome festival in the beautiful town of Negril, Jamaica you will have the privilege of overlooking the beautiful Caribbean ocean all while great music fills your ears and soul. Not only will you enjoy Gov’t Mule at their finest, you are also blessed with opportunity to hear many other great artists and special guests. During this month, January 2015, the attendees of Gov’t Mule’s Island Exodus had the chance to be up close and personal with a total of three Gov’t Mule shows, one Warren Haynes “Solo”, three shows from Anders Osborne and his band, along with Ron Holloway who had returned for his fifth year at the Island Exodus! These artists are not alone and were accompanied with many, many others such as: Ron Holloway the fifth member of the Mule, Paul Nelson, from Johnny Winter’s Band, Tash Neal, Sonny Landreth super slide player, Mini Carlson, Machan Taylor, Papa John Gros from Ander’s band, Matt Abts, Danny Louis, Jorgen Carleson from the Mule, and London Souls opened the festivities with a two hour set on Tuesday night.
If that doesn’t intrigue you then maybe this will. This year Gov’t Mules Island Exodus was held at the absolutely beautiful Grand Lido Resort in Jamaica. At this resort everything is all-inclusive, yes that’s what you heard, ALL-INCLUSIVE. This means all the food you can eat from the buffets and from a variety of five different delicious restaurants at the resort. Beverages are included as well, beer, liquor, frozen drinks, champagne, you name it! Another great addition to the resort is the endless amounts of activities available to do on your day off besides from indulging in the provided meals. If you’re feeling a little active you have the chance to use the non-motorized water sport equipment along with scuba diving equipment!
